curriculum and study group leader information

The Curriculum Committee is responsible for providing diverse courses of high quality and interest to the Adventures In Learning membership and identifying study group leaders to lead them. Courses are offered during the summer, fall, winter and spring terms. Typically, courses are held one a week over a six to eight week period. Mini-courses of three to four sessions may be included in each term's curriculum.

The Committee members meet monthly to review and vote on course proposals submitted by individuals interested in leading a course. The Committee provides information and assistance relating to the course development process, financial guidelines, teaching materials, class equipment aids and procedures.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a study group leader. We are extremely interested to read your proposal for a new course.

Once your course has been approved by the Curriculum Committee, you will be asked to complete Part II of the study group proposal, which asks for more detailed information such as textbooks, audio/visual equipment, venue preference, etc.

The Study Group Leader's Guide is intended as a guide rather than as a rulebook for potlential and current study group leaders. Study group leaders are encouraged to add written comments to their evaluations. All responses are helpful as the study group leaders and the Curriculum Committee plan future courses. Please submit the completed self evaluation form to your class representative or to the Adventures in Learning Office.
