Regulations require that students receiving assistance from any federal program must maintain satisfactory academic progress. Students receiving assistance from Colby-Sawyer College need based sources are required to follow the same federal guidelines. Students receiving merit based scholarships must meet the academic requirements as outlined in the scholarship letter. The college will evaluate students' progress at the end of each academic year.

A student's continued entitlement to financial aid depends on the following conditions:

  • The student must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.00

  • The student must earn at least 24 credits for each year of full time financial aid awarded

  • Additionally, any student on probation must receive a grade point average of at least 2.00 in the next semester or be automatically suspended from financial aid.

  • Failure to complete the degree within the maximum time for their academic program. Students may receive financial aid for 12 semesters as long as they maintain satisfactory academic progress.
