General eligibility requirements for federal, state and most institutional aid include:
Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree program
Be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen
Not be in default on a federal student loan or owe a refund to a federal grant program
Be registered for Selective Service, if required
Have a valid social security number
Have a high school diploma or GED
