Colby-Sawyer College is dedicated to forming individuals who will be life long learners with interests and perspectives that are both broad and deep. Our Liberal Education Program forms the basis of the Colby-Sawyer education, grounding knowledge in the liberal arts and sciences.
We developed this program through conversation and collaboration. Our goal was to identify the characteristics of the liberally educated person and to design a program to achieve those outcomes with our students. We combine this foundation with pre-professional experiences so that students are well prepared to enter the working world or to continue to advanced study.
We believe that the best learning occurs in a situation in which faculty and students are free to explore great questions together and pose their own answers to those questions.
